The hhpt now is Does anyone have any conclusive evidence to show that i will get better performance using LSR over the hardware config? Any ideas if there is someone we should contact to inform them that the older drivers don't work so well with the hpt? It depends 32 whether that raid controller of yours can be accessed as a raid controller only, or whether you have a choice between raid and normal ata.

I have a Abit BE-7 Raid motherboard with the on-board controller. My instinct is that hardware based should perform better, but i have heard otherwise with very little proof however.

I'm unsure as to whether I am better of changing to Linux software raid, or to upt the current configuration and just re-partition the array.
